Best Mobile Apps (well, for me at least)

You definitely have some sort of electronic device that requires you to download apps, and you have to have a job or a hobby that demands specific apps on that device. Most likely, that device is your phone or a tablet. If that describes you then keep reading!

My phone is a kind of cheap Xiaomi RedMi one, I have it for 6 months now, and I am already starting to looking for a new one. On my phone I have pretty much everything I need for my hobbies, and I usually spend much time during the day with it.

I have categorized my apps in a way that I can easily find the app I need, and the categories are 10.

1 . First category is Google Apps one. In here, I have Google News, Gmail, Photos, Maps, Keep Notes, Play Store, Calendar, Drive, Translate, Lens, YT Music, Google TV, Duo, Contacts, Google Pay, Google One, Podcasts, Weather, Analytics, Docs and Fit. Even though I do not use all of them right now, I keep them because I am planning on using them, or I may do some day. One example is Google Pay, which I am planning to use when I create another bank account that can work with google, because my bank cannot do that yet. Google Chrome is at the bottom of my screen, because I tend to use that a lot.

2. The second and most used category is Social Media, in which I have Facebook, YouTube, SoundCloud, Pinterest, Spotify, Viber, Tumblr, WhatsApp, ArtStation, Zoom, and Pantreon. If you are wondering where the hell I have my Instagram and my Messenger app is right in the bottom of my screen with the Google Chrome and the Camera buttons.

3. I have a category just for my Traveling apps, because I used to travel a lot through Europe, and had to download files nd book flights easily. The apps here are Aegean, Gotogate, Kiwi.com, SAS, Norwegian, Ryanair, and Airbnb. This way I can go to this section when I need the paper work for my trips!

4. In the fourth category, I keep all my work-related apps, and it’s called Work. I use VSCO a lot, for editing pretty much all of my photos for my Instagram and Pinterest accounts, I use Layout and Canvas sometimes, and I, of course, have WordPress so I can write down my ideas wherever I am.

5. One of my favorite things to do is educate myself, so I attend online courses related or not, to my field, so I use some apps to help me do that on my phone. I use Udemy, Coursera and Skillshare a lot. Also, Audible for books and Duolingo for earning a new language are two of my absolute favorites. I do keep Ted app in here as well, even though it’s not so educational, but it is certainly inspirational and motivates me to start a new course or think about something new. I have named this one simply; Education.

6. I am a Freelance Artist, so I got to have apps for Job Hunting, so what I chose to download are UpWork, ClickWorker, Fiverr and Freelancer. I do really use UpWork, and I am not that satisfiIed wet, but the others I still trying to figure out how to use.

7. One of my favorite categories is this seventh one, which I call the Shopping one, and I visit it everyday. I really enjoy going through my apps that I have here during my home workout sessions, and maybe chill, while I have my coffee in the morning. Here, I have; H&M, Depop, Adidas, Urban Outfitters, ASOS, Stradivarius, Nasty Gal, Zara, Pull&Bear, Oysho, Missguided, Mango, Shein, Pretty Little Thing, Brandy Melville, Ebay, Shopify and Amazon Shopping.

8. I have another kind of random one, that I have named Tools. In this one I have stuff like calculator, timer, the device cleaner, and other Mi apps that I don’t use that came with the phone. I rarely go to this category, but it’s nice to keep somewhere the stuff you don’t use at all, but can’t get rid of them either.

9. There is an Entertainment section as well. In this I keep some of my favorite games, and even though I do not play that much on my phone, I store them in case I forgot to download a movie, or didn’t care to take a book with me when I fly and travel. These games are the Tap titans, and Bubble Shooter. In this category, since is called entertainment, I keep my Netflix, Prime Amazon and HBO Max apps, and another one called Aurora, that I use to keep track of the Aurora Lights.

10. The last category, the tenth, contains some useful personal apps, that help me get organized. I have Mi Fitness, DayNote, Notes, and Google Sheets in here. I use Google Notes as well, but apparently I make so many notes I had to have an analog journal, my Google Calendar, Mi Notes, and a DayNote app to help me keep it together. This category I just call Personal.

There is no need to follow the exact categories I did, but I found this way to be very helpful for my everyday use of my phone. I know where everything is, and even though I don’t follow the rules, meaning, not every Google App is in the first category, I have sectioned them the way it was convenient for me.

Outfit of the day

I usually tend to wear comfortable clothes so I can move around easily, but also since I live in Sweden I want to be warm, cozy and cute also. I have found some amazing brands which are Scandinavian, such as BikBok and Weekday, and I prefer to buy from those, since the quality of the clothing and the style is dope.

So, every day I wake up and take my boyfriend to work, so I walk with him, so I go for some sneakers, and today’s ones were some basic black pumas. My specific ones aren’t on the site anymore, so I linked here some that are almost the same vibe. https://bit.ly/3v71s8a

I chose to wear leggings and a matching top, since I am doing some home exercise later in the day, and I want to be ready. The leggings and top are from BikBok, and you can never go wrong with black and white! Both of the clothes have a thick material, perfect for sweating, and they give your body shape, they make you look snatched and more lean immediately. The leggings have a tick waistband that synch your waist in, and make you look like you have a tiny little waist, and give space for your booty so you look more curvy. Linked below!

Bottoms https://bit.ly/3DQXm8q .

I needed something to put over my cropped top, so I went for a white teddy shirt, which I linked here! https://bit.ly/3LOJSg3

This teddy shirt feels like heaven, I find it difficult to take my hands off of it, it’s so soft! And also it’s the warmest overshirt I have ever worn. It’s cropped, but you can play with the sizing to get the fit you prefer for yourself. It is very true to size, and I am extremely happy with it.

The following pictures show what I chose to wear to top the look off, and what you see below is Missguided oversized sunglasses, H&M fluffy small shoulder bag, and Weekday Wool Long Oversized Coat.

Sunglasses are so oversized I can hide my whole face behind them, shoulder bag is just the perfect sizing for the daily essentials, and the wool coat is everything you need for a colder place like Scandinavia. It hugs and covers, it protects your whole body in the most stylish way ever.

A perfect look, warm, cozy, comfy and chick, for every woman who happens to live, or travel to a colder country !

6 Movies Worth Watching

The following movies I have seen through the past 15 years, and each and every one of them are special for a different reason. They all have strong aesthetics, stories worth knowing, outstanding actors, amazing music, they are all well-written. Keep on reading the movies I think are pieces of art.

1. Beetlejuice

This movie I first saw in a period in my life where I was, for the most part, drunk or high. It was a popular opinion back then that I have to watch this movie while on weed, but I didn’t do that, and I’m really happy about it.

You see, this movie is written and directed by one of my favorite artists ever, Tim Burton. This guy is an artistic genius, and there are no words to describe how much I appreciate him and his work. You might know him from his famous Corpse Bride movie, or Nightmare Before Christmas, which is another loved one by me. He has done amazing work in the past, he has worked with Johnny Depp and Wynona Ryder a lot, and other amazing actors such as Helena Bonham Carter, Eva Green, Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin, Catherine O’Hara, Jeffrey Jones etc.

A person worth mentioning here, a person Tim Burton has worked a lot in the past, and in many movies, is his friend and music composer Danny Elfman. His music compliments Burton’s crazy imaginative pictures in the best possible way. Together they can make a child daydream, an adult escape in their imaginary worlds. This combo is iconic, and they have done miracles, like Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice of course, Corpse Bride, Dark Shadows, Alice through the Looking Glass, Frankenweenie, Mars Attack, Sleepy Hollow.

2. Taxi Driver

One actor, a legend, Robert De Niro, working with Martin Scorsese, Jodie Foster, Cybill Shepherd, Harvey Keitel, and you have a historic movie. I believe is one of the best of the Gangsters of the ’70 America series. One should watch Taxi Driver along with Godfather, Good Fellas, Heat, Scarface, and I am not putting any Tarantino movies in this list, because I find them almost all of them to be kind of cocky.

This movie was filmed in America in 1976, and is written by Paul Schrader and directed by Martin Scorsese. You can see in this how this taxi driver had honor, but he couldn’t see the right way of expressing it. For me I had my faze of diving in the gangster vibe, and I really enjoyed the aesthetic of these movies, and how the actors behaved in them. Some of the best performances of these amazing actors are in these movies, and they are definitely worth seeing.

3. Cam

Weird movie. I didn’t even expect to love it so much, but it caught me off guard!

It starts with a twist, and it keeps your eyes open. It captures a young girl messing with an online sex-related platform, so her entire life ends up depending on this online made-up persona. Madeline Brewer is the protagonist of the movie, and she represents perfectly this victim character.

Good actors, good scenery, amazing lighting and aesthetics, and a vibrant contrast of the online and the offline life of an individual. It’s a movie I have seen more than once just because of its aesthetics, and I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this to young girls as well, but also to people that are looking for something different.

4. Girl, Interrupted

Just before 2000 hit, James Mangold with Angelina Jolie, Wynona Ryder and all of the other amazing people, released this masterpiece. It is a true story adapted from the original memoir by Suzanna Kaysen. These two beautiful actresses are a delight to watch anyways, and I think that in this movie they are both adorable. They way they interact could be the reason for you to click the play button and watch the shit out of this movie, but also it has a very interesting story as well.

There is not much more to say, but, for sure, this is just a must-watch movie. Go watch it!

5. Ninth Gate

Roman Polanski rules! Right? Don’t you think?

Well, yes, I hear you, he is kind of weird.. I mean.. have you seen Rosemary’s Baby? what the..

That was my reaction when I saw the endings of Polanski’s movies, and this one is no different. The whole movie flows like a breeze, your attention is fully captured, Johnny Depp is once again outstanding, and the story evolves beautifully. It has mystery, it has suspense, and well-made aesthetics, and you enjoy every second of it. For me the end tops it all off, or ruins it all. You watch it, and tell me, because Polanski may be too much for me.

I always appreciate a weird mind, an individual, an artist that sees the world from another point of view, and I can really dive in the vibe that he/she’s going for, but I cannot always follow, sadly, or sometimes I cannot enjoy it as much as it was meant to be enjoyed.

6. The Platform

A movie inside a prison. A prison with floors, many, many floors, and a mystery revealing while it goes. You don’t know from the beginning what is going on, but you get confused so that’s why you keep watching, and then when you realize what is happening you are in shock, and then you keep watching because there is hope in you. You hope for a happy ending, and I will not spoil anything here, so you will have to watch it for yourself.

A dark vibe, a cold environment, misery and hopeless prisoned people, in a non realistic, futuristic scenery. These kind of movies, come from someone’s head, you know, someone thought about it. In this case the mind behind the idea was David Desola, a Spanish screenwriter.

Morning Routine

The moment you wake up in the morning, when you haven’t even opened your eyes still, that’s the moment I start thinking for the day, and it’s the moment I realize the mood I’m in for that day.

Lately I am happy to say that I wake up with a smile, and well rested, and I think that’s because I recently quite smoking and drinking my ass off, so my body can actually take a break and enjoy it’s time. Healthy lifestyle is now my routine and after I open my eyes, and stretch for a bit, I get to spend a little time in bed, chill a few minutes with my boyfriend before we start the day.

Starting the day for us means separation, since he has to go to work, so we really appreciate the little time we have there.

Drinking water in the morning gets you started. Your brain needs to be notified, your body has to move now, and so, you have to give the signals. Your will is stronger!

I drink some water, and then I head to the bathroom for some morning skincare treat, and this part is one of my favorites.

I first brush my teeth, and then I’m using a cleansing butter from The Body Shop that I find to be divine.

This product is, by far, the best I have ever used to take my make up off. But you know, maybe you got home late at night, tired, and dizzy, so you failed to clean your skin perfectly, so this is a key product to use in the morning as well. You can find it here https://bit.ly/3LMRj7p , and please try it out, your skin will thank you, and me for introducing this !

Then I wash my face with Drops of Youth, Gentle Foaming Wash Mousse, with plant stem cells. This mousse is so refreshing, you can actually feel your skin breathing after you wash it. Takes away all the grease off your face, from your night sleep, and leaves you with a smooth, soft surface to work your make up later. You wont even need to put primer on, unless of course it is an essential of yours. This product is heavenly, and I thank The Body Shop for inventing this dreamy mousse.

The next thing I use, after my skin is dry and clean, is a lip balm from ACO, with vitamin E and a vanilla scent, it’s softening my lips and gives me that delicious scent that I then complement with my favorite body mist from The Body Shop, with coconut flavor.

You can find the body mist here https://bit.ly/3uYE5Oh and the lip balm here https://bit.ly/37vyyXy !

After cleaning my face, I run to the coffee maker and make our coffee. We get dressed until our coffee is ready, and then we have our breakfast.

After these hot cups of coffee and maybe some biscuits or yogurt in the morning, my boyfriend, Alex has to go to work, which is 15-20′ away from home, so most days we walk together to his office, and I come home to drink more caffeine and start working myself.

Most days I start by doing a little bit of at home yoga or just a low impact workout, for about 30-40′, and I start working on my social media, sketching and studying until around noon, when is the time for me to prepare lunch!

So that’s it, of course, some days I wont walk with Alex in the morning, and maybe I’ll skip the workout, or just do it later in the day, or maybe some days do HIIT workouts or go to the gym later in the day as well. But mainly, some self-care and company in the mornings is all I need.

Couch Potato or Fitness Fiend ?

If you can say you are a gym monster, a healthy beast, right away, then I guess yes, it’s fair to say you belong to the second kind, and I envy you. But the rest of us are struggling with doing some home workout a habit, or eating healthy and cutting on midnight snacks while cuddling and binge watching our favorite show.

So you creeps, whoever you are, shame on you, for publishing your ideal lifestyle and making us believe we want that. Even though we are convinced, we still don’t want to do it. Not every day at least!

If you think about human beings, yes, we want to move our bodies and put some food in so we can be alive, have energy. Exactly the same way we need the sun, pee, or have sex. These are activities we took because we needed them to become habits, but just like religion, we turned them into a capitalistic product we all suddenly have to do in a specific way, and build our lives around these ”habits”.

What I mean, is that yes, I don’t need to have that piece of chocolate before I go to bed, but I don’t have to workout every day either to stay healthy. See what I’m talking about?

Why do you workout so often ?

Because you were told that you should. That that’s the right way to live longer, or have kids with high IQ or whatever.

Maybe this doesn’t apply to you. In that case, maybe my experience does. When I work out, I do it because I want to feel my body stretching, or I want to loose some fluids, some sweat. Maybe I want my heart rate to be high for a while, or my body to be sore. These feelings are making me take out the yoga mat, or going for a walk, or to the gym. And of course I don’t do it every day. The hours I work and chill are many, during the day, and sometimes I cannot fit in a decent workout.

Don’t believe everything you read, and listen to your body and mind. You know best, unless you are sick. Then go see a doctor, maybe he/she knows better.

Anyway, the next time you see something that triggers you, about being a piece of shit because you had the evening in front of the TV, think why do you feel bad. I believe you’ll find that the reason is not because you don’t feel good. It is because it is believed that what you’re doing is not socially acceptable. But if it acceptable by you, and your body and mind are rested and in peace with each other, then what is the problem?

Please, if you read this and you have any thoughts, I’m glad to talk about it.

Photo tour of lovely Visby, Gotland, Sweden

Since I am here only 7 months now, I don’t know everything there is to know, but I can give you a glimpse of what Visby is about.

A small town, the biggest in Gotland though. I didn’t believe I would never actually live in a place like this, I never thought I would come to Sweden in the first place!

But its nature and the architecture are really interesting. The whole town is arguably the best-preserved medieval city in Scandinavia, and, since 1995, it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. This causes the buildings to be really short, I mean, two or three floors tops, so you can see the sky from, literally, everywhere!

Visby is a destinations many Swedish people choose to visit in the warmer months, and also, due to the department of Uppsala University, in game design, the place is full of students.

It is also worth mentioning that the place is even more expensive than the mainland, because it is a famous destination for tourists.

Don’t get me wrong, there are many things to do here, there are many restaurants, theatres, galleries, shopping center, (well, yes, just one, but I’m grateful), parks, tattoo studios, fancy hotels, bars, job opportunities (!) and everything.

If you think about visiting, be sure to book your hotel early, and bring flats with you. You’re gonna want to see and walk around the old city, and in the picture above, you can clearly see that the ground is not smooth here. Bad news, but it’s definitely worth seeing.

In the warmer months, there’s a lot of sun as well. In fact, there’s hardly ever night time. You get darkness for only 3-4 hours a day, and some months you can actually see the sun being above the horizon for all night long until it rises up again.

For me that’s not ideal, because I do not enjoy sunlight that much. Growing up in Greece, I had all the sun I need for the rest of my, life, so, I prefer the sky with clouds, and I really enjoy the sun on 7th of April! Random snow, strong wind, and cold weather rules here in Visby from November to April. It’s a really sweet view to have, wet roads, dancing trees and white roofs from the warmth of your bed. Luckily that’s my case. I get to write this blog with my eyes escaping to the beautiful full of trees backyards of Visby.

So yeah, that’s where I currently live, and I really enjoy it, as a 24 year old European student and content creator.
